About The Artist

I am a mixed media artist based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. I love to create depth by layering my paintings with colour, texture, collage, inks, acrylics and pens. My pieces are soft and flowing, stemming from my love of yoga and movement.

Recently, I have been working on a series entitled, “Fiori Freschi”, which means Fresh Flowers in Italian. As I was painting some of this series, Italy was in lockdown due to Coronavirus. Things felt very heavy in the world and I was needing to express a lightheartedness during the dismal days of March and April 2020. The writings on these pieces are simple and uplifting. I am hoping they will remind the viewer that even on dark days there is beauty that exists all around us.

I have also been creating some works that combine my artistic style with my Jewish roots. The pieces in this series are a modern take on themes, symbols and words from centuries old history and culture. These works join together the idea that it is ok to move forward into modern times and also ok to embrace and remember from where we came.

I am the recipient of the “Artist of the Month” award for June 2020, from The Union House, a Vancouver based live and online art facility. You can check it out at theunionhouse.net. I have always loved to create. As a child, I loved taking pottery, printmaking and live figure drawing classes. As an adult I came back into my creativity through paint and mixed media. Though I have not attended any formal art school, the courses that I have taken have helped me to develop my own painting style. I would describe my paintings as abstract, contemporary, often with a nature element. I hope that my paintings will fill personal spaces with lightness and joy.

I really enjoy creating special one of a kind pieces for clients that incorporate personalized design ideas, colours, content, words etc. I have incorporated special photos and themes into pieces that have been very meaningful to the recipients. Please contact me with ideas.
